Agenda
i) Decide on a theme
ii) Construct a list of potential roles
Meeting
First Claire checked everyone had managed to access the forum.
i) The class was divided into 3 groups to discuss existing themes and brain storm potential new themes. Then a group chat followed where the themes were presented and comments could be offered. Michelle presented the idea of Pleasure, Jennifer put forward David (Rush’s) idea for Time including tradition and modernity, Melissa offered up her idea of Curiosity and Rachel suggested the idea of Scottish Identity. We then broke into our groups to discuss and consider these four themes. Another chat between all present about the themes. We then held a vote to obtain two final themes; everyone voted for the ideas that they liked (people where allowed to vote for more than one potential theme in this initial vote) Time and Curiosity both received 12 votes, Pleasure 7 votes and Identity 4 votes. A final vote (one vote per person) was held; Time received 11 votes and Curiosity 7 votes. Potential titles of ‘tock’ and ‘rush’ were suggested but no decision reached.
ii) We went back into our groups to consider what potential roles the journal had and how many in each team. We came up with a list of roles and how many people would be needed in these teams, then we asked people to sign up for what roles they might be interested in. Discussion to take place on the forum and votes on Thursday after class.
