Hello, to everyone who is graduating today a massive well done! Hope you all have a great day and nobody trips over their robes!
Right, so the second event has been booked with the Scotia bar for the 17th of July. We definitely need to run this one to get funds for the ISBN and hopefully a bit more on top.
It will start at half 7 and run to half 9-10.
I have asked the landlady and she is happy for us to run a raffle and doesn't care about calling it a suggested donation in return for potential gift gaining funboree.
So, I propose we have 8 readers on the night, and I believe Gemma is asking her friend to play some music too - which would be great if he is free.
Could you post on here, or spread the word on Facebook that we are seeking readers, to see who will/would be willing to read an excerpt of their stories in front of a hopefully full - and always friendly - Scotia crowd.
Once again, hope you all have/had a great day!

Are we doing tickets or just running a raffle?

Just the raffle - the Scotia run a bunch of reading and band nights so it would be difficult to get people to pay. Hopefully we can get enough people along so as the raffle will raise over £60.

Do you want me to make up posters for this? If so... what words should go on it, do y'think?

Hi Melissa, I think we should be okay for posters but thanks for offering. Sorry for the late reply - been busy TEFL'ing and things.
Are you okay to read that night? So far we have, myself, Kat, Claire, Callum, Iain Ferguson and I think Jennifer reading. I'd ideally like 8 or more so if you don't mind it would be muchly appreciated!

Yeah, I don't mind. Do we need I read something that's going in the journal (this might be a silly question). I was thinking I could read my Aye Write piece again, because its quite shortish and good for reading aloud.

Shall we have a reading line-up in advance, so there's a lack of muddle on the night?
Would also be good to know what length of excerpt would be good to read if there are 8 of us reading.

I've got one that's about five minutes... is that too long?

Woah! I'm going first? This is a bit terrifying! Is there someone that's going to introduce us? (Please say yes, haha!)

Hey guys! So I’ve just arrived home and recounted the raffle money that we raised from tonight and a bit of a miscalculation must have happened on my part back at the Scotia Bar, because from the raffle we have raised £137 – NOT £130 . I also decided to open up my beloved Flux Donations tin and add on whatever money was in that, and so in total we haaaave: £141.48 ! Well done everybody - cracking night!

I think that's us then isn't it?
That should be enough money to print the journal and get an ISBN number right?
