With regard to what Lucy discussed with us today, I think we should discuss what we want to change about the meetings.
Personally, I think the only speaking when invited and not going off on a tangent thing is important. I know that I myself quite often have my voice heard in class over others, and I tend to push to get my opinion heard. It's just in my nature and I am sure it is the same for other class members. I continually feel guilty that I have my say and others don't. Maybe if we gave everyone a chance to have their say on big decisions this could be resolved, and I definitely think only speaking when invited to by David is the way to go.
Also, I think what Lucy said about the meetings being a place to make decisions rather than to have a discussion is important. I think we should all be using the forum a lot more for discussions so that we are prepared to make decisions that need to be addressed in our Thursday meetings. Frequent use of the forum to talk about issues will also make it easier for David to identify what decisions need to be made and therefore what needs to be on the agenda.
And I think it would also be helpful if people could say on the forum before a Thursday meeting if they won't be present, allowing David to make decisions about what he puts on the agenda-e.g. if the design team can't be there, there's not much point discussing design and so on.
These are just some ideas on how we can improve things based on what Lucy said today.
