Hi,
Yesterday's meeting was slightly disappointing, only 6 showed up.
The initial thought was we need to make sure everyone turns up every week.
The more I think about it, the more I realise it is highly unlikely this is going to happen.
Perhaps, it may be best to propose that we use the forum a lot more. If we can set aims for each group and get these on track then maybe there is no need for a meeting every week. I don't fancy the hour and a half each way getting in to meeting of 6 people.
I think right now the most important thing (along with getting the event organised) is getting all of the work edited and in to Claire and Dave. Perhaps we should concentrate on this and then the editorial board could arrange a meeting to discuss what content we have etc.
Meanwhile, other groups could work on the tasks at hand, and the fundraising team could use the forum to get help with organising the event and keep us up to date with what's going on.
The chairs and admin team could post on the forum in a new thread what they feel are the aims of each team, and we can all report back on the forum to say wether these things are done. When there appears a need for a meeting, we can arrange one.
Does this seem more productive and suitable for everyone?
Of course this means everyone will have to use the forum but I feel it would be easier to get people on here than to a meeting.

Hey. I'm happy to come in for meetings every other week, just wasn't able to make Monday. Probably the reason most people didn't come was because of the deadline But yeah. Using the forum more could be better. My only concern with doing that is its quite hard to judge people's tone when it's all in writing. Might be more friendly to speak face to face because there's less space for confusion? And also, there's only a small group of people who regularly use the forum...

And also not everyone uses it that frequently. I'd like to keep trying to keep up the meetings, despite there only being six of us there yesterday I'd say we got some difficult topics talked out in amongst the chatter.
So Mondays at 12 somewhere in the union building.

I think it's important to still have the meetings, but I was very disappointed that only six of us showed up on Monday.
I know that everyone has a lot on, but we all do (though some people did have serious reasons why they couldn't make it, which is fair enough).
Hopefully the reason others didn't show up was because of the assignment being due the same day and other deadlines, etc, but it's not like the six of us who did show up aren't also drowning in deadlines and other commitments.
I realise the class is technically over and that might make some people think there's no real point in carrying on with the project as we won't get any extra credit for it actually coming to fruition, but we've come this far and put a hell of a lot of effort into this thing.
I, for one, would really like it to be a success (and hope others do too), but if we want that to happen, we all have to be willing to put the time and effort into it.
So that means everyone using the forum, not just the same small number of people who usually post, but everyone. It also means attending meetings, which I actually prefer to the forum because we can see each other face-to-face and not have to worry that our tone is being misinterpreted, etc.
I'd like to continue the meetings on a Monday, and really hope more people will come to the next one.

I'm happy to come every other week. I realise now I should probably have said I wasn't coming, but I did have a genuine reason for being very behind on my assignment, which I won't say here but am more than happy to share with anyone in person if they are not convinced

Okay, was just a suggestion incase people hadn't showed up because it was going to be continually inconvenient for them.
And, just to be an absolute pain in the arse, I should let everyone know now that I won't be able to make it to the meeting this Monday. Lol. Really sorry. But I'm sure I'm pretty up to date with everything and can afford to miss one meeting x

I completely understand if you can't be there, but it's just good to know who's coming and who isn't so we can have an idea of whether or not we'll actually be able to decide on things.

I'll be along - any volunteers to come around potential venues with me? no one's getting back to me via email - this may or may not include having lunch at the pig

Really sorry, gang, but I won't be able to make it (I know, I know, I've been going on at everyone and now I can't come).
But I've caught a horrible cold or something - very throat related, nearly lost my voice in work today 'cause of it - and I'm still writing these two essays for Friday.
Working on Wednesday and Thursday evening, so tomorrow and Tuesday are the only two full days I'll get to complete them and I need as much time as possible if I'm going to even be close to getting it all done!
Sorry again!

Kind of feel the same way (not coldy thankfully, but feeling the pressure with two deadlines this week).
Who is all going tomorrow, and when/where are we meeting?
